Acoustic Insulation

Table II: Acoustic reduction by glazing type

Acoustic pollution in big cities makes acoustic insulation a life quality and comfort factor.

Kömmerling® PVC doors and windows manufactured by PVC Transforma offer outstanding acoustic insulation levels, certified in Europe by independent labs tests*.

Rigid modified PVC is an extraordinarily insulating material from which Kömmerling® profiles are manufactured. Besides, the profiles are designed to house thick glazing and to allow air-tight windows manufacturing, such as tilt & turn and others. The combination of these factors produces unequalled acoustic insulation.

An acoustic insulation value of up to 50 decibels is achieved when employing Kömmerling® systems and special glazing. At this level, human ear perceives only 1/32 of exterior noise **.

Thinking that double glazing alone achieves good acoustic insulation is a relatively generalized conceptual mistake. Although glazing is an important factor, so are the frame and sash material (PVC, aluminum, wood or other) and the operation type's air-tightness.

In the Doors and Windows and Profile Systems sections, you´ll be able to see the most acoustic efficient solutions.

*Available to public.
** Eurodur® System,11-6-9 gas glazing.
